JACKSON STATE UNIVERSITY METEOROLOGY

A Journey for Inclusion

Since its humble beginnings in 1975, JSU's meteorology programs has established itself as one of the nation's best. It was the only HBCU with an undergraduate degree program in meteorology until 2008. In its nearly 45 year history, it has produced over 100 graduates. Some of which have gone on to have prestigious careers in media, government, and academia. JSU produces 1/3 of all African-American meteorology degrees holders and 1/4 of all African-Americans employed by the National Weather Service are graduates of our Dear Ol' College Home.
